Definition of short wave pass filter:
A short wave pass filter is a cut-off filter in interference filters. Cut off filters are divided into long wave pass filters and short wave pass filters, which require a certain wavelength range of light beam to be transmitted and the light beam deviating from this wavelength to be cut off. Usually, we refer to the filter that reflects (cuts off) the short wave region and transmits the long wave region as a long wave pass filter. On the contrary, the short wave direction is transmitted, while the long wave direction is cut off. The filter that isolates the long wave is called a short wave pass filter.

Dielectric type short wave pass filter is a filter made of optical coating, which is a reflective short wave pass filter commonly used to correctly select the wavelength band of transmitted or cut-off light. It is made of quartz glass material coated with different dielectric materials. When a mixed beam with multiple wavelengths passes through a filter, interference effects produce extremely high light transmittance in specific short wavelength bands and reflection and absorption of light in longer wavelength bands. The transition band between the transparent band and the cutoff band of the filter is very narrow and sensitive to angles. Only when the incident is perpendicular or approximately perpendicular, can the output beam of the corresponding wavelength band be obtained.

Cut off position: According to the coding regulations of Ruicheng Optoelectronics, the positioning point of the short wave pass filter is identified by a wavelength point with a transmittance of 50%, represented by the short wave universal SPF code.

Main application: Short wave filters can effectively block near-infrared light and are widely used in various cold light sources, fiber optic lighting, LED lighting, metal halide lamp insulation, and infrared cut-off filters. Optical imaging solutions: optical engines, digital cameras eliminate CCD and CMOS near-infrared interference filters to ensure the normal operation of optoelectronic instruments and equipment. In addition, it can also be used as a dichroic mirror, stage filter, machine vision applications, etc.

When the transmittance of the through-hole is at its maximum, high-performance short wave pass filters have good cutoff at the cutoff point. These filters have a cut-off band, an optical concentration of 4.0, and a comprehensive transmittance of not less than 91%, making them more suitable for a wide range of applications.
