A dichroic mirror, a combination mirror, and a dichroic filter provide different beam splitting ratios for incident light of different wavelengths. A dichroic beam splitter can be used to combine or separate laser beams of different colors. A dichroic mirror has high transparency for beams below the cutoff wavelength and high reflectivity for beams above the cutoff wavelength. We also provide long wave/short wave dichroic mirrors, which have high reflectivity for beams below the cutoff wavelength and high transparency for beams above the cutoff wavelength. Our dichroic mirrors and composite mirrors have a variety of medium wavelengths to choose from. Moreover, in the corresponding transmission and reflection bands, the absolute transmittance and absolute reflectance are above 90% and 95%, respectively. Designed for 45° The incident angle has circular and square dimensions. This optical component can also be used to combine a beam of light with a wavelength (or wavelength range) smaller than the cutoff wavelength with a beam of light with a wavelength (or wavelength range) larger than the cutoff wavelength. Usually they are also used to separate light that is overlaid in different color spaces. One surface of these optical components is coated with a dichroic film, and the other surface is coated with an anti reflective film.

Light diagram:
Figure 1 shows how to use a dichroic mirror/beam splitter to combine a transmitted light (blue) and a reflected light (red). The wavelength of the transmitted beam is in the transmission band of the optical element, while the wavelength of the reflected beam is in the reflection band of the optical element. If the transmission direction is reversed, this optical element is equivalent to a beam splitter, as shown in Figure 2.
In both cases, the combined multi-color beams are located on the side of the filter coated with a dichroic film. To reduce absorption loss, we recommend that the reflected wavelength does not pass through the substrate. Unlike typical beam splitters, this dichroic beam splitter combines or separates beams without significant intensity loss.
