Some related knowledge about CY5 fluorescent dye. The full English name of CY5 is Cyanine 5, which is a blue pigment fluorescent dye that emits far red fluorescence. It can be linked to genes or proteins through its reaction. Divided into regular cy5 and sulfonated cy5 (Sulfo-cy5).

And Cy5 (Suifo-Cyanine5) is a reactive dye used to label the amino groups of peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotides. Cy5 fluorescence falls in the far red region, with a high extinction coefficient, bright fluorescence, and insensitivity to pH. CY5 is highly sensitive to its surrounding electronic environment, which can be used for enzyme assays. The conformational changes of attached proteins can lead to positive or negative changes in fluorescence emission. Cyanine dye is a relatively old fluorescent dye, but it is the basis for other fluorescent dyes to improve brightness, light resistance, quantum yield, and other aspects. CY5 fluorescent dye can also be used for FRET experiments, usually excited by a 635nm laser beam and observed with a 692nm filter. It can be used on most fluorescence instruments.

Ruicheng Optoelectronics has launched a filter RUICCN-Cy5 that is compatible with Cy5 dye. The spectral curve is as follows:
