Application of Filter in Laser Ranging
Principle of laser ranging:
Laser rangefinder is an instrument that uses laser to accurately measure the distance of a target. The laser rangefinder emits a very fine laser beam towards the target during operation. The laser beam reflected by the target is received by the photoelectric element. Measure the time from transmission to reception using a timer and calculate the distance from the observer to the target.
If the laser is continuously emitted, the range can reach about 40km, and this operation can be carried out during both day and night. If the laser pulse is used, its absolute accuracy is generally low, but it can achieve good relative accuracy for remote measurement.
Laser ranging method:
Laser rangefinders usually use two methods for measuring distance: pulse method and phase method. The process of pulse ranging is as follows: the laser emitted by the rangefinder is reflected by the measured object and then received by the rangefinder. The distance between the rangefinder and the object being measured is half the product of the speed of light and the round-trip time. The ranging accuracy of pulse method is generally in the range of; About 1 meter.
The laser ranging filtering scheme is mainly applied in the civil field for engineering surveying, building distance measurement, and civil scene distance measurement. In widely used optical filters, mirrors, 635 nm, and 905 nm wavelength bands are commonly used. 635 nm is a widely used filter, which is mainly processed and filtered by a narrowband filter after passing through an LED laser beam, and then another light sensing source is introduced into the reflected light to quickly obtain the actual distance through operation.
635nm filter parameters:
Center wavelength: 635nm
Half peak bandwidth: 10nm-50nm
Peak transmittance:>90% (or customized by customers)
Cut off wavelength: customized according to customer requirements
Cut off depth:>OD4-OD6
Surface flatness: Surface flatness level III, US military standard 40-20
Environmental testing: MIL-STD-810F or fogging test
Application fields of laser rangefinder:
Electricity, water conservancy, communication, environment, construction, geology, police, fire protection, blasting, navigation, railway, counter-terrorism/military, agriculture, forestry, real estate, leisure/outdoor sports, etc.
