UV filter refers to a filter that does not allow ultraviolet light to pass through, and some people also call it a defogging filter. This is because ultraviolet light is in a warm state in the air, making it invisible to the naked eye during sunny photography, resulting in blurry photos. UV filter can block this harmful ultraviolet radiation. Another use of UV filters is to protect the lens from damage.

Available designs for UV filters

Open design
Open design includes a substrate with a filter coating on one surface. Sealing can reduce potential damage caused by moisture, atmospheric pollutants, or treatment

The filter has a protective fused silica cover, and filter cover/seal/seal over -190 nm can provide a fused silica cover for protection. This design allows for processing of the filter without coming into contact with the precision filter coating. Please note that covering the filter reduces its transmittance by 23%.

Edge sealing increases the diameter of the filter by approximately 0.010 inches (0.254 mm).

Installation - The cover plate design in the installation ring has been installed - if necessary, an open or closed filter (without edge sealant) can be installed in the metal installation ring. The ring is made of aluminum and has undergone black anodizing treatment. As described below, installing a filter can reduce the optical aperture and increase the outer diameter.

Application areas of UV filters:

Cable TV upgrade equipment, fluorescence analyzer, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader, mobile barcode scanning infrared touch screen, optical instruments, wireless transmission equipment, iris recognition, handheld infrared laser rangefinder, laser rangefinder, medical and health equipment, and testing equipment T
